Solar Power Plants
Solar power plants can make electricity for towns, cities, even states.
Solar power plants are a bunch of either photovoltaic panels or mirrors connected together. Solar power plants combine all of the energy made from the solar panels. Arizona is trying to make concentrators. Concentrators are like little magnifying glasses that move toward the sun and gather in and focus a wide area of sunlight onto a small place of solar cells. The largest solar power plant is called SEGS. It is located in the Mojave Desert in California. SEGS uses nearly 2,000 mirrors to reflect sunlight onto a tower filled with oil. The largest solar power plant that uses photovoltaic panel is Sarnia. Sarnia is located near Ontario, Canada.
